MICHAEL HÜRTER, PhD, MBA

As managing partner, Michael Hürter presides over the company. After his training, Hürter started in 1985 as a district manager at ALDI-Süd for the Rhine/Main region, before moving to Lidl Discount in 1990 as an authorized signatory for expansion in Bavaria and Hesse. From 1994 he took over the position of managing director for controlling and the internationalization of various divisions at Lidl. He left in 1996 after developing Lidl UK as country manager.

From 1996 to 2008, Hürter worked for the Tengelmann Group - first as CEO for the LeDi Lebensmitteldiscount investment, then from 1999 as CEO for PLUS Germany and the following years until 2008 as CEO of the international discount division PLUS (€10 billion in sales per year in 9 countries and 40,000 employees), until its successful sale to various bidders in 2007/2008. During the years 2008 to 2012, he also worked for several private equity companies, as member of the supervisory board, senior advisor and as a member of the operational board (for Papyrus AB/Göteborg from 2010 to 2012 for the CEE cluster).

Starting in 2012, Hürter became the CEO of bauMax AG in Klosterneuburg, Austria, which was restructured and subsequently sold at the end of 2015, mainly to the German market leader in DIY, OBI. From 2016 to 2022, Michael Hürter was the managing partner and CEO of the euro delkredere GmbH & Co. KG group, and from April 1, 2022, until December 31, 2023, he served as a representative of the shareholders' meeting. Hürter is also a member of the advisory board or supervisory board of large, market-leading companies, both family-owned and those held by financial investors, in Germany and abroad.
